Write four openings for the same story, roughly 500 characters each. Approaches: 1. **Start mid-event**, with no setup 2. Start in the character's ordinary day, with a crack showing 3. Start with the scene, building atmosphere first 4. Start in the character's voice (first-person) Under each: - One line on whether this approach suits this story - **What the next scene must then deliver** Rules: - ***Do not lay out the setting.*** **Especially in version 1.** - Use only the material I gave you.
