The story is stuck. Give me the ways forward. 1. **First diagnose why it is stuck** — the character has no motive to act, the conflict already resolved, or the next event is not inevitable. 2. **Five branches, going genuinely different directions:** - Resolved by the character's choice - Resolved by an external event - Something planted earlier pays off - Things get worse - Something the reader would not expect 3. Per branch: what happens next, and **what it costs** — what it closes off. 4. **Mark the branch that only works via coincidence.** *That one will read as a cheat.* Then: which branch the story has already prepared for, and which would need setup added earlier.
