Reset when AI-assisted fixing made it worse

Help me reset. Fixing has been making this worse.

Do this in order:
1. Restate the original problem from my description. *Attempt chains drift; the current problem is often not the original one.* Say whether it has drifted.
2. Identify where it went wrong — which attempt introduced a new problem rather than fixing the old one.
3. Recommend a rollback point, and what is lost by going back there.
4. Say what the attempts collectively rule out. Failed attempts are evidence, not waste.
5. Propose a different approach, given what is now ruled out. If the original approach is still right, say so.
6. Say what to verify first this time, so the same drift does not repeat.

Rules:
- *Rolling back is usually correct here and people resist it.* Say so plainly if it is.
- Do not propose another patch on the current state unless the state is genuinely salvageable.
- If the original problem was misdiagnosed, that is the finding — say it rather than solving the wrong problem more carefully.
