Design the survey questions. 1. **Break what I want to learn into measurable items first.** 2. Per item, write the question. Table: question / response type (scale, choice, open) / which research question it answers. 3. **Filter out, checking your own work:** - **Leading questions** — anything implying the answer - **Double-barreled questions** — two things asked at once - Questions respondents cannot know or recall - Questions too sensitive for an honest answer 4. Set the question order and say why. **Sensitive items go late.** 5.
